FAQ
When do we Train?
Training is scheduled on a one on one basis dependent upon availability. Most of our athletes train on Tuesday's & Thursday's in the evening, with additional times available, as needed.
Where do we train?
Our athlete's train out of Mobility Fitness (Blue Ash) or Lakota East High School (Liberty Township), where Coach Strunk is currently the Head Offensive Line Coach and Running Game Coordinator. Certain circumstances dictate travel on our behalf and accommodations can be discussed upon scheduling.
Who Do we train?
We specifically train Offensive Lineman, both those currently playing the position and those of who are transitioning to the position. We currently offer training from Fourth Grade all the way through College.
What do we need to bring to training?
Cleats
Water/Gatorade
Notebook & Pen/Pencil (Collegiate Athlete Only)
Do you offer Group Training?
We are currently a one on one based approach, so that we can provide the athlete with the greatest amount of coaching during their session. Requests can be made for multiple athletes to be trained together, so long as they fall under the same grouping of age, so that we can keep the same level of coaching throughout the duration of the session.
What To expect outside of training?
As seen in our mission statement we train both the current and next generation of Offensive Lineman, by building them from the ground up to develop PREMIER trench warriors! We here at CPOA, see that as a partnership between our team, the athlete, their parents/guardians, their coaches, and any one who plays a key role in their life. We are here not only to provide relevant and age appropriate coaching to them, but also guide them through their journey as a football player. Whether they are just starting out as an O-Lineman for the first time, navigating the depths of recruiting as a high school athlete, or preparing to hear their name called on draft day, our team is committed to you and your family at every age and stage.
What does a session typically look like?
Structures of sessions are dependent upon a couple key factors; age, skill level, and desires of the athlete. The first session for our athletes is typically spent as an evaluation session where we allow the athlete to run through drills as they would if they had received no instruction from our team. This allows us time to evaluate holistically, what we at CPOA need to customize for the athlete's improvement plan. Improvement plans will vary dependent upon skill level and the athlete's desires, our goal is for this to be a collaborative effort between both the athlete and our team. Why do we do this? We do this because we find this time as a life lesson to teach the athlete how important it is to be able to self evaluate, think critically, and collaborate with others, as these skills will translate far beyond their playing careers. After developing an improvement plan in forward sessions we will always start with stance, our first three steps, and body positioning. This is something our athletes will do every session and continue to do every session so long as they are a part of CPOA. From there our drill structures can be referred to as build-ups, where the component of the whole drill will be broken into sections. Starting with foot/ground component, then the upper body component, and then ultimately running through the drill completely.
